Quantum Mechanics

I believe we can construct a new view of special providence which holds both that God acts in the world objectively, and yet that such action is not by intervening in or suspending the laws of nature. I call this idea "non-interventionist objective special divine action". Much of the current discussion in the field of theology and science regarding divine action now turns on this possibility.

A lay person's discussion of Quantum Mechanics and why it's important in this day and age.

What is Quantum Physics? It is the science of things so small that the quantum nature of reality has an effect. Quantum means 'discrete amount' or 'portion'. Max Planck discovered in 1900 that you couldn't get smaller than a certain minimum amount of anything. This minimum amount is now called the Planck unit.

The Bible speaks of the existence of dimensions beyond our time and space, extra dimensions in which God exists and operates. Such extra dimensions are now verified by scientific discoveries.

An introduction to the principles of quantum mechanics is presented here. It is intended to supplement the discussion of hydrogen and many-electron orbitals commonly found in general chemistry text books with a deeper understanding of the underlying physical principles. The relationship between classical and quantum mechanics is explored to illustrate how physical objects can be viewed both as a particle and a wave.

At a fundamental level Modern Physics is founded on the concepts of particles and fields in space and time. However both light and matter exhibit a particle / wave duality, and there are two main fields, charge / electromagnetic and mass / gravity. So we have a number of different concepts without any clear understanding of how they are connected.
